Vayona’s journey is rooted in the development of India’s modern wind energy ecosystem. Our manufacturing facilities, engineering capabilities, and service networks have supported the deployment and operation of wind assets across multiple generations of technology, evolving continuously to meet industry, grid, and customer requirements.

2009 - 10

  • A milestone year as Gamesa begins operations in India and commissions its first G58‑850 kW turbine in Tamil Nadu.

2011 - 12

  • Emerges as the market leader in Tamil Nadu in just 1 year, installed 200MW in the first year
  • Inaugurates the blade and tower manufacturing facility at Halol, Gujarat
  • Launches the G97-2.0 MW
  • Commissions the 1000th G58-850 KW turbines

2013 - 14

  • Emerges as No. 1 wind company in India
  • Inaugurates the nacelle manufacturing facility at Mamandur near Chennai
  • Commissions 1000MW of wind installations

2015 - 16

  • Retains the No. 1 position in the Indian wind industry for the third consecutive year, records 1GW of commissioning in 1 year
  • Launches G114-2.0 MW
  • Bagged the first overseas solar project in Sri Lanka and powering towards 100MW of solar installations

2017 - 18

  • SG 122-2.0 MW turbine prototype commissioned and launched serial production
  • Inaugurates integrated manufacturing facility at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh
  • Retains No.1 position in the Indian wind industry for the fourth consecutive year
  • Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa joins forces to create Siemens Gamesa, a leader in the wind power market

2019 - 20

  • Receives prestigious Deming Award for manufacturing plants
  • Launches the SG3.4-145 turbine

2021 - 22

  • Receives the first 625 MW order for the 3X turbine
  • Blade exports to Poland, Canada, Egypt and Spain
  • Successfully passed post Deming review

2024 - 25

  • Celebrated the successful commissioning of 1 GW of 3.X technology in India
  • Secured a record order of 3.6 GW for the 3X platform in India
  • Achieves 12 GW milestone across operational and under-development assets

2026

  • Vayona Energy launched in India after successful acquisition of Siemens Gamesa Onshore & service business in India and Sri Lanka

Chairman

Mr. Subbiah has over three decades of diverse experience spanning consulting, technology, manufacturing and financial services. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Limited, Vice Chairman of Tube Investments of India Limited (TII) and Chairman of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited. His achievements have been widely recognized - he was named EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2024, EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 – India, and the Outstanding Business Leader of the Year at the CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) 2024. Mr. Subbiah holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Jain is an industry veteran with more than three decades of expertise in the energy, steel and infrastructure sectors. Previously, Prashant served as the Chief Executive Officer of JSW Energy Limited.

Mr. Ankur Thadani

Nominee Director of TPG

Mr. Thadani is a Partner and Head of India for TPG Growth, RISE and RISE Climate Funds. He has worked in the private equity industry for nearly 15 years and has invested across healthcare, consumer and energy transition themes. He is a member of IVCA Climate Council and was selected by ET in the 40 under 40 list in 2022.

Sole Director Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (S.A.U.)

Mr. Philip has been a Member of the Executive Board of Siemens Energy AG since October 2022. He assumed responsibility for the Wind Power business Siemens Gamesa in August 2024. Since Siemens Energy’s spin-off in 2020, Vinod has been pivotal in shaping its strategic direction as it transforms to meet the growing global demands for sustainable, affordable, and reliable energy. Prior to his role on the board as CTO and Global Functions EVP, he was also the Head of Strategy for Siemens Energy.

Mr. Mayank Bajpai

Mr. Bajpai is a Business Unit Partner with TPG Growth, The Rise Funds, Rise Climate, and GSI based in Mumbai, India. Prior to joining TPG, Mayank worked for Flipkart Internet as a Senior Director, leading marketplace seller and ecosystems strategy, and before that was a Principal at Booz & Company. Mayank earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and his MBA from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Vinay brings 25 years of leadership experience across renewable energy, infrastructure, capital markets and large-scale project execution. Most recently, he served as Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer at JSW Energy, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the company and delivering transformational growth over the past five years. Prior to this, Pritesh built a distinguished career at the JSW Group, Goldman Sachs, Edelweiss Capital and the Aditya Birla Group, developing a rare combination of strategic, financial and operational expertise – particularly relevant for scaling complex industrial platforms.
